Description: Golden Ears Provincial Park is one of the largest parks in the province. The extensive system of trails within the park provides an excellent opportunity for hiking. The park’s lush plant growth, numerous waterways and mountainous terrain host a variety of animals, including beaver, black bear and mountain goat. Vegetation is typical of the coastal western Hemlock Forest of BC.

Description: Pitt Lake is the largest tidal freshwater lake in the world. There is a rare reverse delta at the mouth of the Pitt River, a result of deposition which occurs when rapidly flooding tides dam and reverse the main Fraser River outflow back up into Pitt Lake. The Pitt-Addington Marsh supports over 200 bird & 29 mammal species. Of note is the presence of Greater Sandhill Cranes feeding and nesting in and adjacent to the Wetlands. Part of the trail is grass-covered along the Pitt River Dyke, with views everywhere you turn.

Sun Aug 23, 2026 - Pitt Meadows - Harris Road Alouette River/Trans Canada Trail -
Description: The Trans Canada Trail goes along the south and north arm of the Alouette River. With berry farmlands and spectacular views looking up the mountain peaks including the Golden Ears. Great Blue Herons also abound in these waterways. Considered an easy route, popular for birding, and fishing. The trail is a very well-maintained wide gravel trail with benches along the way with lovely scenic views of the river, mountains and surrounding farms. The route follows the Alouette River to Neaves Rd and returns for 10km’s or continue north on Neaves Rd to a dyke to return on the opposite side of the Alouette River for 12km’s. The 5km route walks 2.5km’s each way.

Description: Joe Brown Park was established in 1932 and expanded in the following years. Christoper Brown’s House located at 5377 Coulthard Place was built in 1898 in a colonial Revival style, with gabled dormers, wraparound veranda, shiplap siding with corner boards. Joseph Brown’s House is located at 12745 Southridge Drive, and it too is a Colonial Revival House built around 1909, noted for its architectural and historical significance. The house features a central entrance, a steep pitched and hipped veranda roof. On the 11km route, the walk will take you by both addresses.
